Robert D. Lavoie, P.E. - President

BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Lavoie has over 35 years of experience in the practice of civil engineering with an emphasis in municipal engineering and land development.  Rob has been principal in charge and/or project engineer on numerous and diverse municipal public works projects during his career.  Prior to joining Nowak & Fraus Engineers (NFE) in 1991, Rob held key positions within the City of Pontiac during a 15-year tenure.  As the City’s Public Works Director, City Engineer and Highway Maintenance Superintendent, Rob was responsible for the design and construction of many transportation and public works improvement projects.  While at NFE, Rob has served as consulting city engineer for the cities of Pontiac, Hamtramck, Hazel Park, and the Village of Oxford.  Since joining NFE, as consulting engineer for those cities, he has designed and overseen many public water main, sanitary sewer, storm drain and highway improvement projects.  In addition, he has also overseen and designed numerous residential, commercial and industrial developments.  Rob received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 1975, obtained his Professional Engineer’s License in 1980 and earned a Master of Science Degree from Wayne State University in 1985.  Rob served as president of the South Oakland County Municipal Engineers and is a member of both the American Public Works Association and the American Society of Civil Engineers.  Rob, as president, serves as chairman of the Board of Directors of the firm.
